TUXEDO, NY - Chele Chiavacci Farley (R-Orange County) who is the endorsed Republican and Conservative Party's candidate in New York’s 18th Congressional District signed the USTL Term Limits Pledge promising to co-sponsor and vote for an amendment restricting U.S. Representatives to three terms and two terms for U.S. Senators.
“I believe enacting term limits for members of Congress is one of the most important things we can do to make Congress work for us again,” Chele Farley said. “More than ever before, the partisanship and obstruction caused by Nancy Pelosi, Sean Patrick Maloney and the other career politicians in the House of Representatives demonstrates the need for term limits.”
To date, Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney has failed to sign the Term Limits Pledge. In November, Maloney will be running for his fifth term.
“Term limits will make members of Congress accountable to the people they represent, instead of to Washington insiders,” said Chele Farley. “By signing this pledge, I’m promising that on Day One, I will sponsor legislation creating term limits for every member of Congress. It’s time to get something done!”
U.S. Term Limits President Philip Blumel said, “Chele Farley’s support of term limits shows that there are individuals who are willing to listen to the majority of voters who want term limits. The people are best served by citizen legislators, not career politicians.”
