TUXEDO, NY – Congressional candidate Chele Chiavacci Farley released the following statement in reaction to Presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke taking his campaign to Mexico.
“It is no surprise that Beto O’Rourke spent time on the campaign trail in Mexico instead of Iowa or New Hampshire. After all, he is a strong proponent of open borders. He met with migrants to attack the deal that President Trump reached with Mexico to house them, while their claims for entry into the United States are processed.
O’Rourke claimed that the reason migrants were flocking to the U.S. border was because of CLIMATE CHANGE in their countries! He used the photo op as an opportunity to tout his climate change plan that would cost U.S taxpayers trillions of dollars. At the same time, he promised to provide illegal immigrants with free healthcare. America can’t sustain the current cost of the crisis at the border let alone add billions in new spending to aid those who break the law coming to our country.
Sean Patrick Maloney has tried to tell us time and time again that he is a centrist. But his actions speak louder than words. He supports the Green New Deal that would cost every Hudson Valley family $600,000. He remains silent while his handpicked candidate for President, Beto O’Rourke, makes open borders the centerpiece of his campaign.
Hudson Valley deserves a representative in Congress who will fight for our values with common sense solutions. One who will work toward immigration reform that secures our border, and healthcare reforms that provide coverage that is affordable and available to all Americans.”
