September 11, 2001 is a day we will never forget. On that day, terrorists, motivated by hate, attacked us killing almost 3,000 people in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington DC. America’s response was brave and resilient.
First responders rushed into the towers to save the lives of the innocent victims who were hurrying out. Their courage and sacrifice remain a testament to America’s unshakable resolve. The Hudson Valley is home to many of the police and firefighters who risked their lives that terrible day. We honor them today.
We have built monuments to help us remember that Americans always stand with each other in times of crisis. Let us pledge to never forget the lives lost and the sacrifices of so many brave Americans that day. Let us resolve in memory of those lost to help others and work together for the common good of our values. God bless America.
