TUXEDO, NY – Chele Chiavacci Farley (R-Orange County) released the following statement regarding Adam Schiff's dangerous conduct and the resolution to condemn and censure him:
Like many residents of the Hudson Valley, I am extremely concerned that the Congressional Democrats' ongoing rush to impeach President Trump will prevent action on important issues, including strengthening border security, investing in our deteriorating roads and bridges and adopting the US-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement to grow our region's economy.
So far, the Democrats' efforts to manipulate this process for political gain have done nothing but erode Americans' trust in our government. Recent news reports alleging that Congressman Adam Schiff and his staff made contact with the whistleblower before the complaint was actually filed are extremely disturbing and should worry all Americans regardless of party affiliation. If these allegations are true, and information was not shared in a timely and transparent manner with the entire committee, then at minimum it threatens the credibility of the Congressman as the Chairman of the Intelligence Committee to conduct a fair and impartial hearing on a very serious matter.
We need to return honesty and integrity to this process. To do so, I believe the House of Representatives should pass the Resolution to Condemn and Censure Adam Schiff for manufacturing a false dialogue between President Trump and President Zelensky. As a nation of laws, we must take a firm stand against this type of misconduct. I applaud Congresswoman Elise Stefanik for supporting this important measure and I encourage Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney to do the same. It’s time for Congress to stop with partisan political games and get back to work.
