FARLEY ANNOUNCES RUN FOR CONGRESS IN NY-18

For Immediate Release

Chele Chiavacci Farley announced today that she will seek the Republican, Conservative and other party nominations for Congress in New York’s 18th Congressional District in 2020. The district includes all of Orange and Putnam counties and portions of Dutchess County and Westchester County.

“The 2018 election marked a radical shift left with some politicians like Sean Patrick Maloney embracing socialism. His agenda of government-run healthcare and the Green New Deal will result in much higher taxes and skyrocketing energy rates which will hurt families and small businesses,” declared Farley. “I’m running for Congress to find practical and workable solutions to our needs which embrace Hudson Valley values of hard work and living within our means.”

“For decades, New York taxpayers have gotten a raw deal from Washington. Billions of our tax dollars have gone to Washington that never made their way back home, resulting in property tax increases and crumbling infrastructure,” said Farley. “In Congress, I’ll bring our money back so that we can lower taxes, reduce energy costs, preserve the Hudson River and rebuild our transportation infrastructure.  We must improve Metro-North service, complete the transformation of NY17 into I-86 and improve I-84, I-684, the Taconic Parkway and the region’s other major thoroughfares.”

“As the home of West Point, our region shares a unique bond with the brave men and women who defend our country and keep us safe,” Farley said.  “I will work with the President, regardless of party, to ensure the security of our nation and provide for the members of our armed forces.”

“Sean Patrick Maloney campaigned as a centrist who would represent the needs of this district. But he broke the voters’ trust when he signed onto Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal,” declared Farley. “His $93 trillion plan would cost every household in the district $600,000 and make our heating and cooling costs unaffordable.”

After graduating from Stanford University with two engineering degrees, Chele worked for UBS Capital and Goldman Sachs before founding Mistral Capital International, a private equity investment firm. She was the 2018 Republican, Conservative and Reform nominee for U.S. Senate. Chele is married to Richard Farley, a lawyer, and is helping raise his sons.
